Six Bloggers, Twelve Ankle Boots

Here we are, already winding down the month of September. I cannot believe how fast this year has gone, and that my baby is already 8 months old. One of my favorite times of the year is fall. I love the leaves changing colors, the pumpkin smell and the crisp scent in the air. Living in Texas, I usually do not have the opportunity to see the colors anymore, or feel that cool air like we had in Ohio, but I still get pumpkin everything!

If you missed last month, I have teamed up with five other fantastic women to share a favorite style trend each month. You can check out last months sundress here. I am not a fashion writer by any means, so I am still figuring out my writing style on this – but it actually is a pretty fun journey!

Simple brown lace-up ankle boot

Lily had so much fun getting to take pictures with mommy! She always knows when the camera is on her, and she gets so happy about it!

My boots are from Charlotte Russe. I like the brown color going into fall, and they are pretty comfortable as well! Though it sure doesn’t feel like fall in Texas, these help to get me into the spirit.

The shirt and my jeans are both from Ross… one of my absolute favorite stores down here in the south!

These pictures are very sweet for me because a dear friend was in town visiting me while my husband was deployed for the cleanup of Hurricane Harvey. She is like a mother to me and we do not get to see her much anymore, so it was fun to enjoy some time with her and get to share this fun photo shoot with her.

Faux-Leather pulling an outfit together

A faux-leather pair of ankle boots in brown that goes with denim as well as dresses. There are often some rules set around what boots can be paired with, but she loves to experiment with her outfits and accessories, and I think boots add an interesting twist to a dress look. In this outfit, she has a summery outfit with a shift dress paired with a brightly colored shrug; the brown boots just pull the whole look together, without making it look like a deliberate effort to make a statement with a fusion/boho look. It add a twist alright, but in a gentle way.

Let’s talk about these red boots!

Gabby wore this when her and her husband went out for a lunch date and then grocery shopping. Since it’s still massively hot in Georgia where she lives, she can’t quite go full Fall Weather mode yet with sweaters and booties. Instead, she opted for a relaxed tee and olive skinny jeans cuffed to her ankles to pair with these fabulous red and gold ankle boots. I love the pop of color from the boots! The mixed metals of the jewelry added an extra edginess that made her feel casual-cool.

Dark boots to bring fall to Texas

Fall is her absolute favorite  season, for the smells, colors, pastries, drinks, and overall fashion!
In Texas we don’t really experience fall weather until well into winter, so it’s fun to be able to mix season!
Because of that, she wore this super sweet dress, for the heat of the day, but paired it up with some super fallish boots.
A good way to say fall even if the weather doesn’t allow us through colors, and these dark mustard boots scream autumn!

Go to cool weather outfit

Jody bought these B.P Faren booties way back in July because she absolutely loved them, and ever since then she has been waiting for fall so she could wear them! In the spirit of fall she chose to wear this cute cardigan over a white tie front blouse – this will be her favorite go to piece this fall and winter. The best thing about fall is getting out her favorite sweaters and sweatshirts and curling up under a blanket with a good book or watching football with her family.

 Unique Bed Stü Boots

Chelsea loves finding unique accessories like these amazing boots from Bed Stü! Bed Stü uses organically tanned leather and still makes boots by hand! They say “Just like no two finger prints are the same, each BED|STÜ product is distinct” and she loves that about them…it doesn’t hurt that they are also cute and comfortable. She spends most of her day on her feet, so comfort plays a role when shopping for shoes. In the fall living in Chicago, she also loves to add a great scarf, like this one form a local designer, and a versatile jacket, denim for the win today!
