October Skincare Product Review

Okay Mommas, let’s talk about face care today! I have been in this industry for almost 10 years, and I love love love trying out new products for my skin!

For the past several years, I lean toward the “natural” and “organic” product lines for my skin. I think it is so important to know what is going on your skin, as it is the largest organ of your body, and what does on your skin is absorbed into your system! Typically I use cosmeceutical grade products or different lines we carry at the salon or spa I may be working in at the time, but recently since staying at home I have been trying some more over the counter products that are still in the natural line.

 Cleansing: Pacifica Beauty

One of my absolute favorite lines lately is Pacifica. Their brand is natural, vegan and cruelty free, AND delivers results! Their skincare products are formulated without: Animal testing, animal ingredients, phthalates, parabens, sulfates, propylene glycol, mineral oil, petroleum, peanut oil, triclosan, and other ingredients you do not want on your skin. All of these things are so important to me, especially during pregnancy and while nursing. I use their makeup, and had been wanting to try some of their skincare line as well.

Pacifica Beauty Kale Detox Deep Cleaning Face Wash

This product has been a total win for me. I was looking for something that can help overcome some oil issues I have been having since pregnancy, and this is truly helping my skin with that! It boasts its ability to keep breakouts at bay, and I have surely noticed that using it myself. Also, it smells seriously of kale which makes me incredibly happy. I LOVE when you can smell the amazing ingredients they put in these products, it really tells me it is in there and ready to get to work!

This product is safe to use day and night and powerful enough to remove your makeup and daily grime. I love that it lathered up just a little but is not harsh on my skin at all.

The added bonus: It is less than $10 at Target!

Exfoliation: YesTo

Okay, so if you have not yet seen this brand, it is okay… however I am sure you have seen it somewhere on a shelf in a store near you. I love this brand because it supports the more natural values I have, and the price point is great as well. They will only use 95% or higher natural ingredients, they do not use parabens and other harsh ingredients, and they are cruelty free and a member of the leaping bunny program. They have a really incredible mission behind their name… “yes to happiness.” They wish to help create communities full of happy healthy women and get rid of the negative. What’s even more interesting, is that the company is founded by two men who played soccer – who knew?!

Yes To Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub

I have been using this scrub for months, as during pregnancy I desperately needed a healthy exfoliation option, as I was no longer going to use a chemical method, and did not have the patience to lay with my big belly and get a microderm. On a side note, even my husband loves to use this scrub! It smells like grapefruit, one of my favorite foods! It does an awesome job and leaves my skin feeling smooth and gives it a nice glow.

This is great for dull skin and really helps to even out your skin tone. It is also not a harsh scrub and you can use it daily – just like it says!

And can you believe a 4oz tube sells for $6.59 at Target?!

Moisturize: Nourish Organic

Nourish Organic Argan Face Serum

“When we founded Nourish more than a decade ago, the words “organic” and “beauty” were never found together. We were concerned by numerous studies and research that shed light on the hazardous chemicals in existing beauty products, and by the lack of regulations in the personal care industry. Believing that what you put on your body is every bit as important as what you put in it, we became “organic beauty pioneers,” determined to create the very first line of chemical-free, environmentally friendly skincare products.

We were the first beauty company to ever work with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to create a collection of products so pure they could be certified organic under the same strict standards the government uses to certify food. And in 2003, we launched Nourish—the world’s first USDA-certified organic skincare collection.

Then, in 2012, we re-introduced the Nourish brand with an even more exciting line up of fabulous USDA certified organic products that you are sure to enjoy.”

If you have super oily skin, this may not be the best option for you. Overall, it feels awesome on, smells good and I honestly feel like it has helped the overall appearance of my skin. I had been in search of a face oil that had Rosehip in it. This serum has some awesome properties, like deeply hydrating and replenishing skin, brightening complexion and smoothing out texture and tone of your skin!

This serum is less than $20.00!

I am anxious to see how all of these products continue to help improve my skin!
